Tortilla Pizza Rolls Bites are a fun and easy appetizer combining the classic flavors of pizza wrapped in a soft flour tortilla and baked until golden and bubbly. Perfect for parties, snacks, or a quick bite, these bite-sized rolls feature mozzarella, pizza sauce, pepperoni or ham, and colorful bell peppers, seasoned with oregano and optionally topped with parmesan, red pepper flakes, or fresh basil.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni or diced cooked ham
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Olive oil, for brushing

Optional Toppings

  • Grated parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Tortillas: Lay each flour tortilla flat on a clean surface and spread a thin, even layer of pizza sauce over the entire surface.
  3. Add Toppings: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce on each tortilla. Then add sliced pepperoni or diced cooked ham, chopped bell peppers, and sprinkle dried oregano on top for flavor.
  4. Roll and Slice: Roll each tortilla up tightly from one edge into a log shape and then slice each roll into 1-inch thick bite-sized pieces.
  5. Arrange and Oil: Place the sliced rolls cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush the tops of the rolls with olive oil to promote browning and crispness while baking.
  6. Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown and the cheese inside is bubbling and melted.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and optionally sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, or fresh basil leaves. Serve warm for best taste.

Notes

  • For a crispier roll, brush with olive oil generously or use melted butter.
  • You can customize fillings with your favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms, olives, or different meats.
  • Use whole wheat tortillas for a healthier twist.
  • Serve with extra pizza sauce or ranch dressing as a dip.
  • Allow rolls to cool slightly before eating to avoid burning your mouth with hot cheese.
