A creamy and protein-packed Cottage Cheese Peanut Butter Mousse that's naturally sweetened and perfect as a healthy dessert or snack. This no-cook recipe blends velvety cottage cheese with rich peanut butter and a touch of honey, delivering a deliciously smooth mousse that’s easy to prepare and satisfying.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup full-fat cottage cheese
  • 4 tablespoons creamy natural peanut butter (sugar-free)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk (if needed)

Instructions

  1. Strain Cottage Cheese: Place the full-fat cottage cheese in a fine mesh strainer and let it sit for 1 to 2 minutes to remove excess liquid, which helps achieve a thicker mousse texture.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Transfer the strained cottage cheese to a blender or food processor. Add creamy natural peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt if using.
  3. Blend Until Smooth: Blend the mixture on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds until it's smooth and creamy. If the mousse is too thick, gradually add 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk while blending to reach your desired consistency.
  4. Chill: Pour the mousse into a bowl and refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes. This chilling step allows the flavors to meld and the mousse to firm up slightly.
  5. Serve: Portion the mousse into small bowls or jars. Optionally, top with sliced bananas, crushed nuts, or other favorite toppings before serving chilled.

Notes

  • Use full-fat cottage cheese for the creamiest texture.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste by varying the amount of honey or maple syrup.
  • If dairy is a concern, substitute milk with almond or oat milk when adjusting consistency.
  • For a thicker mousse, strain the cottage cheese longer.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
