Oreo Sushi is a fun and easy 2-ingredient dessert that transforms Oreo cookies into sushi-like rolls. Perfect for a playful treat, this recipe involves crushing cookies and combining them with milk to make a rollable paste, layering with the original cream filling, and slicing into bite-sized pieces. Optional add-ins like fresh fruits, chocolate sauce, and nuts can enhance flavor and texture.

Ingredients

For the Sushi Rolls

  • 24 cookies Oreo Cookies any variety
  • 3 tablespoons Milk dairy or plant-based alternatives

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 cup Fresh Fruits such as strawberries or bananas
  • Chocolate Sauce for drizzling as needed
  • Crushed Nuts or Sprinkles for texture and fun as needed

Instructions

  1. Separate the Cookies: Carefully twist apart each Oreo cookie, placing the cream filling in a bowl and setting the cookie halves aside for later use.
  2. Crush the Cookie Halves: Place the separated cookie halves into a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin until fine crumbs form.
  3. Make Cookie Paste: Transfer the crushed cookie crumbs into a mixing bowl and gradually add milk, stirring until a thick, dough-like paste is formed that can be spread easily.
  4. Assemble the Roll: Lay a sheet of plastic wrap flat on a clean surface. Spread the cookie paste evenly into a rectangular shape on the wrap. Layer the separated cream filling on top of the cookie paste in an even layer.
  5. Roll and Chill: Using the plastic wrap to help, roll the mixture tightly into a sushi roll shape. Secure the ends with the wrap and place the roll in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Slice and Serve: After chilling, unwrap the roll and cut it into bite-sized sushi pieces with a sharp knife. Arrange on a plate and serve immediately with optional fresh fruits, chocolate sauce, or crushed nuts for added flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use any Oreo variety you like — classic, golden, or flavored.
  • Milk quantity can be adjusted to achieve the right paste consistency.
  • Fresh fruits such as strawberries or bananas add a refreshing contrast.
  • To make cleanup easier, use plastic wrap both underneath and on top when spreading the cookie paste.
  • Chilling the roll helps it hold its shape for neat slicing.
  • For a dairy-free version, use plant-based milk alternatives.
