This Mangonada Mocktail is a refreshing mango-based drink featuring a creamy mango blend combined with tangy lime juice and a touch of sugar, perfectly enhanced with Chamoy sauce, Tajín seasoning, and tamarind candy straws for an authentic Mexican flavor. Ideal for a cool, vibrant summer treat or a delightful non-alcoholic beverage.

Ingredients

Mango Base

  • 16 ounces frozen mango chunks
  • 1.5 cups mango nectar
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Assembly and Garnish

  • 3 tablespoons Chamoy sauce, divided
  • 2 tablespoons Tajín seasoning
  • Tamarind candy straws
  • Optional: Mango or lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mango Base: In a blender, combine the frozen mango chunks, mango nectar, ice cubes, freshly squeezed lime juice, and granulated sugar. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, ensuring a consistent and refreshing texture.
  2. Coat the Glass Rims: Dip the rims of the serving glasses into Chamoy sauce, then immediately dip them into Tajín seasoning. This creates a flavorful and visually appealing coating around the edge of each glass.
  3. Enhance Glass Interior: Drizzle the remaining Chamoy sauce along the inside sides of the prepared glasses to add extra flavor and create a beautiful presentation.
  4. Assemble the Drink: Pour the blended mango mixture into the prepared glasses. Insert a tamarind candy straw for an authentic touch, and optionally garnish with a slice of mango or lime on the rim.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately while cold and refreshing for the best taste and experience.

Notes

  • Use frozen mango chunks for a thicker, creamier texture without needing additional ice, though you can add ice cubes to your preference.
  • Adjust the level of sugar based on the sweetness of your mango nectar and personal taste.
  • You can substitute mango nectar with fresh mango juice, but the texture and sweetness may vary slightly.
  • Chamoy sauce and Tajín can be found in Latin grocery stores or online if not readily available locally.
  • For a spicier version, drizzle extra Chamoy or sprinkle more Tajín over the top before serving.
