Honeyed Fig Pecan Baked Brie is a luscious appetizer combining soft, creamy Brie cheese with a sweet and nutty topping of dried figs, pecans, honey, and fresh rosemary. Baked until gooey and warm, it pairs perfectly with slices of crusty baguette or assorted crackers for an elegant and easy-to-make treat.

Ingredients

Cheese

  • 1 wheel (about 7 ounces) Brie cheese

Fruit and Nuts

  • 1 cup dried figs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Sweetener

  • 1/4 cup honey

Herbs

  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped

Accompaniments

  • 1 baguette or assorted crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the Brie.
  2. Prepare Brie: Place the Brie wheel in the center of a shallow, oven-safe baking dish to ensure even heating.
  3. Mix Topping: In a medium bowl, combine chopped dried figs, honey, and chopped pecans. Stir in the freshly chopped rosemary to infuse herbal aroma.
  4. Assemble: Evenly spread the fig, honey, and pecan mixture over the top of the Brie wheel, covering it nicely.
  5. Bake: Transfer the baking dish to the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and just beginning to ooze.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven and serve immediately with slices of baguette or assorted crackers to scoop up the warm, melty cheese and topping.

Notes

  • For a milder flavor, remove the rind from the Brie before baking.
  • Can substitute walnuts or almonds for pecans based on preference.
  • Use fresh figs instead of dried for a juicier topping if in season.
  • Serve immediately as Brie tends to firm up when cooled.
  • For added flair, drizzle a little extra honey on top just before serving.
