Delicious and easy-to-make Oreo Truffles that combine crushed Oreo cookies with creamy cream cheese, coated in smooth semi-sweet chocolate. These bite-sized treats are perfect for parties, holidays, or a decadent snack.

Ingredients

Base

  • 14.3 oz Oreo cookies (approx. 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

Coating

  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate melting wafers
  • 2 extra Oreo cookies, crushed (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the full Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until they reach a uniform, sandy texture with no large chunks.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the processed crumbs and pulse until a cohesive, dark dough forms that pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  3. Shape the Truffles: Use a small 1-tablespoon scoop to portion the mixture into uniform mounds, then roll each between your palms to form smooth, perfectly spherical balls.
  4. Chill: Place the truffle balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes to ensure they are firm enough for dipping.
  5. Melt the Chocolate: Melt the semi-sweet chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth and fully melted.
  6. Dip the Truffles: Using a fork, submerge each chilled truffle ball into the melted chocolate, tap off the excess, and return to the baking sheet to set.
  7. Garnish and Set: Optionally sprinkle crushed Oreo cookies over the coated truffles before the chocolate sets, then allow the truffles to firm up completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Freezing the truffles before dipping helps the chocolate coating to set quickly and prevents the truffles from melting.
  • Use a fork for dipping to allow excess chocolate to drip off smoothly.
  • Store finished truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Feel free to experiment with different chocolate coatings such as white or dark chocolate for variety.
