A simple and delicious Easy Layered Banana Pudding Trifle that combines creamy vanilla pudding, fresh bananas, crunchy Nilla Wafers, and fluffy Cool Whip for a delightful dessert perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Pudding

  • 1 large box (5 oz) Jell-O Cook and Serve Vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups 2% milk

Layers

  • 7 bananas, sliced
  • 1 box Nilla Wafers
  • 1 (16 oz) container Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pudding: In a saucepan over medium heat, add the milk and pudding mix, stirring constantly. Cook until the mixture begins to boil. Transfer the pudding to a mixing bowl and let it cool for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Layer the Trifle: Place a layer of Nilla Wafers on the bottom of a trifle dish. Next, add a layer of Cool Whip, followed by a layer of pudding, sliced bananas, and more Nilla Wafers.
  3. Repeat Layers: Continue layering in the same order: wafers, Cool Whip, pudding, and bananas, until the dish is filled.
  4. Top and Decorate: Finish with a final layer of Nilla Wafers and banana slices. Crumble a few extra wafers and sprinkle them on top for decoration.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate until ready to serve for the flavors to meld, about 15-20 minutes.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent them from becoming mushy too quickly.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of vanilla extract to the pudding mixture.
  • Chill the pudding before layering to make assembly easier and prevent melting.
  • If Nilla Wafers are not available, vanilla or butter cookies can be a good substitute.
  • This dessert is best served within 24 hours for optimal freshness.
