Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps are a flavorful and satisfying meal featuring seasoned shredded chicken combined with melted mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, all wrapped in warm, toasted flour tortillas brushed with garlicky butter. This skillet-toasted wrap offers a perfect blend of savory spices and gooey cheese, ideal for a quick lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Chicken Filling

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Wraps

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Garlic Butter

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken filling: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the shredded chicken, dried oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook and stir until the mixture is heated through evenly.
  2. Assemble the wraps: Lay the flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Divide the warm chicken mixture evenly among the tortillas, placing it in the center of each. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the chicken. Add chopped parsley if using. Fold in the sides of each tortilla, then roll them up tightly burrito-style to enclose the filling.
  3. Make the garlic butter: Combine the melted unsalted butter with the minced garlic in a small bowl. Use a brush to generously apply the garlic butter mixture over the entire outer surface of each wrapped tortilla.
  4. Toast the wraps: Heat a clean skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down first, to seal and toast, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side. Flip carefully to toast the other side until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese inside has melted.
  5. Serve: Remove the wraps from the skillet and let them rest briefly to set. Using a knife, slice diagonally into halves or thirds and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use cooked chicken from your preferred method—grilled, roasted, or rotisserie work well.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute flour tortillas with gluten-free wraps.
  • Omitting parsley won’t affect the flavor but adds a fresh herbal note if included.
  • To make the wraps spicier, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the chicken mixture.
  • Ensure the skillet is not too hot to prevent burning the garlic butter during toasting.
