A refreshingly sweet and creamy Brazilian limeade made with fresh limes, cold water, and sweetened condensed milk. This luscious drink blends the tartness of lime with the smooth sweetness of condensed milk, perfect for a quick and cooling refreshment.

Ingredients

For the Limeade

  • 6 pieces Fresh Limes, chopped into pieces for easy blending
  • 3 cups Cold Water, adjust based on preferred tartness
  • 1 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk, can substitute with regular milk and sugar if needed
  • Ice, use larger cubes to slow down dilution

Instructions

  1. Prepare the limes: Wash 6 fresh limes thoroughly to remove any dirt or wax. Cut each lime into about 8 pieces to make blending easier and more efficient.
  2. Blend the ingredients: In a powerful blender, combine the chopped lime pieces, 3 cups of cold water, and 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk. Blend on high for about 30 seconds until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Strain the mixture: Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl or pitcher and pour the blended mixture through it to remove the pulp and lime peels. Use a spatula to press and extract as much liquid as possible for a smooth texture.
  4. Serve: Fill two tall glasses with large ice cubes to minimize dilution. Pour the strained limeade over the ice. Garnish each glass with a lime slice or a sprig of mint to enhance presentation. Serve immediately for the freshest taste.

Notes

  • Using larger ice cubes helps prevent the drink from becoming watered down too quickly.
  • Sweetened condensed milk adds a creamy texture and sweetness; you can substitute with regular milk and sugar if preferred, adjusting sweetness to taste.
  • Make sure to wash limes thoroughly to remove any wax or residues for a fresh and clean flavor.
  • This recipe is best served immediately to enjoy the vibrant flavor and freshness.
