Bang Bang Chicken Bake is a flavorful and easy-to-make baked chicken dish coated in a creamy, spicy, and slightly sweet sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, this recipe features boneless skinless chicken breasts baked to juicy perfection and topped with a tangy bang bang sauce made from mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and garlic powder.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

Sauce

  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.33 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Garnish

  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix the Sauce: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts evenly spaced in the greased baking dish, then pour the prepared sauce over them, making sure each piece is fully coated.
  4. Bake: Bake the chicken uncovered in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the sauce is bubbling and slightly caramelized.
  5. Garnish and Rest: Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle the chopped green onions over the chicken. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is fully cooked to 165°F for safety and juiciness.
  • For a spicier dish, increase the sriracha quantity or add red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute chicken breasts with thighs if you prefer dark meat; adjust cook time accordingly.
  • Serve this dish with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
